Summary
Description: We will go in private transport to the village of Pucara, where we will visit a farm with an anaerobic digestion facility to produce gas used for kitchen stoves. We also get to see a sugar cane mill and learn about the production of raw sugar. Later in Plaza Gutiérrez, we will visit a workshop for handicrafts made of cabuya (fiber from the fique plant). After lunch in the Nangulvi tourist complex, we will learn more about this community enterprise and then have some free time for a short hike or a visit to the local hot springs. Later after dinner, you can visit the hot springs once again. The next day (2) after breakfast we will go to Apuela to see the local coffee factory and then head back to Otavalo, enjoying the spectacular scenery along the way.
